by Elaine Ambrose and AK Turner
This book was FUN. Super quick read. The premise is that each of the authors met up with a female dead author to chat over drinks. Great unusual premise and fun to see how Ambrose & Turner handled conversations with dead women.
Each chapter is a meeting with a different author, or in the case of the Bronte sisters, 3 authors. Ambrose & Turner did their research to craft the personalities of the dead women. Such as, Dorothy Parker,
“I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.”
They truly made you feel as though they were sitting at a table with these women.
The book is short & sweet and an easy read. A great book if you need to be able to pick up, finish a chapter, and put it down. I like books like this. There is a little bit of history because of the nature of the conversations with real people. There is an element of humor to some of the authors. Overall, twas fun. I needed a quick respite book right about now, and this one fit the bill!
